Liverpool wedding Gateacre
Liverpool wedding Gateacre – Rachel and Ian . Months after their pre-wedding session at their favourite park near their home, Rachel and Ian were getting ready for their big day. When we first met each other for a coffee at their local pub I was impressed with the comfort I felt with them and realised what an easy going couple they are. We did talk about details of their wedding amongst other subjects such as society, economy, politics, life in the UK and abroad, etc. A month later, last autumn, we did the pre-wed shoot, and months passed before their wedding at St. Mary’s Church at Gateacre, Liverpool. I remember visiting the church with Ian and Rachel one day, and making a plan of the group photos. The trees had bare branches then, and I was so surprised the park around the church had changed into a beautiful place full of trees, grass and flowers. Couldn’t complain about the weather either, as it was as warm and sunny as a mid summer day could be.
At Rachel’s house, the girls were getting ready while I sneaked upstairs to take a few dress and shoes shots. I also checked on Ian getting ready at his mom’s, and quickly back to the girls to capture their walk to the wedding cars. It’s a bit of a race with time to catch all these, but it is rewarding for the story-teller and the readers. I always try to capture as much as I possibly can. I try to think what I would like to see in the photos a photographer would take at my wedding. Which details would these be, which moments captured? It is a hypothetical scenario that always works for me and my clients.
I think I might have said enough, so here are some of my favourites…
